2008 SSV Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament

(Monday, March 17th, 2008 through Saturday, March 22th, 2008)

Dates:  		Monday, March 17, 2008 thru Saturday, March 22, 2008				
		There are 3 options to determine the entry level for your mixed doubles:								
		(1) The woman can play at the same level as the man. (ie; 4.0 woman + 4.0 man = 8.0 team)								
		(2) The woman can play one level above the man. (ie; 4.0 woman + 3.5 man = 7.5 team.	)							
		      The combined total of the man and woman is your entry level.							
		(3) Additionally: The woman can play one level below the man but must use the man's level								
		      of play to determine the entry level. (ie; 2.0 woman + 2.5 man = 5.0 team.)

Entries:  	Each Draw is limited to 16 teams.  Each club may submit three (3) teams at each level.  								
		Players who currently are rostered members of a multi-park team, sanctioned by the								
		EVSTL, are eligible to enter with one of their teammates.

Draws:  	Draw levels will be 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, and 8.0.								
		The #1 team from each club is assured a place in the tournament.								
		Back-up teams #2 & #3 from each club, will play if open slots are available.

Competition:  	Two (2) of Three (3) sets.								
		The 3.0 thru 5.5 teams will play a twelve (12) point third set tie breaker.  								
		The 6.0 thru 8.0 teams will play a eighteen (18) point third set tie breaker.

Location:  	Sunland Springs Village	Courts.

Entry Fee:  	$15.00	per person	$30.00	per team.					
		Each club will submit one check for all participating teams.

Consolation: 	There will be a consolation bracket for all losing first round players.

Registration:  	Players must check-in thirty (30) minutes before their scheduled match.								
		Teams will default after ten (10) minutes if they do not report to their assigned court.

Rain Delays:  	If play is suspended due to rain, play will resume as soon as possible.								
		Suspension and resumption of play are decisions of the tournament director.								
		Players must keep in touch with the tournament officials during rain delays.

Rules of Play:  	1. Player must enter the tournament at the team level they are listed at the EVSTL current season.							
		2. Substitutes will be allowed prior to the 1st round of play, but must be made before check-in.								
		    The substitute player(s) must have the same rating and be from the same club.							
		3. No substitutions after the commencement of first round play.  Injury time-outs shall be								
		    limited to ten (10) minutes.  If at the end of that time, a player cannot continue,							
		    he / she shall be considered in default.							
		4. If a player is unable to complete a match for any reason, he / she shall be in default.								
		5. Warm-up, including serves, is limited to five (5) minutes.								
		6. Players shall call their own lines (scorekeepers cannot intervene).								
		7. All four (4) players are to report to the tournament desk after the match.								
		8. Winning teams may not compete at the same level for one (1) year.								
		9. To be eligible to play, you must have played at least two (2) matches in the EVSTL 2007-08 season.

Awards each event: 1st, 2nd, & 1st Consolation

									
Critical Dates:

Wednesday, February 20, 2008		Three (3) mixed doubles teams submitted by each						
			   		participating club in all events.  Submissions are requested						
			   		via E-Mail or on SSVTennisClub.com

Wednesday, February 27, 2008		Draws at each level will be completed.

Friday, February 29, 2008		Club representatives will be advised about all participants.

Wednesday, March 05, 2008		2:00pm - Pick up final draw sheets at the					
					Sunland Springs Village	Tennis Courts.		
					BRING ONE CHECK for ALL Participants.

Monday, March 17, 2008		Play begins:	Monday, March 17, 2008				
					Play ends:	Saturday, March 22, 2008				
							at the Sunland Springs Village Tennis Courts.
